According to 2020 data from the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer causes 20% of all deaths in Europe

Europe comprises only one eighth of the total world population but has around one quarter of global cancer cases, with almost 4.4 million new patients per year⁴

The most common cancers in Europe in 2020 were breast, colorectal, lung and prostate -which together - accounted for around 45% of all cancer cases⁴
